In particular, our beloved town of Santa Cruz in Ilocos Sur is not immune to these environmental challenges. We urge the local government and community leaders to take swift and decisive measures to address these critical issues.

We are particularly concerned about the unchecked use of single-use plastics and waste management in our town. These contribute significantly to environmental degradation. According to a report by the Philippines Statistics Authority (2019), plastic waste comprises 12% of total municipal solid waste generated in the country.

We believe that implementing effective waste reduction initiatives can make a significant difference for our environment. It's time we work together as a community for sustainable solutions that will benefit not just us but also future generations.
