ICT AS A MEDIUM FOR ADVOCACY

I am personally invested in this cause because If my deep-rooted belief in education. As an advocate for educational reform, I have seen firsthand the transformative power of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) when used as a medium for advocacy. 

In today's digital age, it is crucial that we harness the potential of ICT to enhance our advocacy efforts. According to UNESCO, integrating ICT into education can improve access to learning opportunities, quality of learning and teaching methods, and educational management systems.

However, despite its proven benefits, the adoption of ICT as a medium for advocacy in education remains limited. This is due to various barriers such as lack of infrastructure, inadequate training for teachers and students alike on how to use these technologies effectively.

We must act now if we are serious about improving our educational system. By implementing ICT as a medium for advocacy in education at all levels - from primary school through higher education - we can ensure that every student has access to quality learning resources regardless their geographical location or socio-economic status.

It's time we leverage technology not just as an instructional tool but also as an instrument for change. Let us call upon policymakers and stakeholders in the field of education to implement policies that promote the use of ICTs for advocacy purposes.

The use of ICT has great impact on social movements because things have happened through these. Since it’s the fastest way of spreading information, some changes, big and small, have happened in our world.
Suitable means of distributing and accessing learning resources which have great learning potential in rural areas where resources such as books and libraries are scarce but ICT infrastructure is present.

Offers new possibilities for improved health system, new ways of citizens’ empowerment and active participation in their societies at both social and political levels.

Internationally, the spread and appropriation of ICTs has been a key dimension of globalization, urging societies to build communications systems, manage them well; develop infrastructure and capacity to use it; and implement good policy and regulation.
