Implement family size regulation for government benefits

Implement family size regulation for government benefits
The Issue
The population of Bharat has reached critical levels, challenging our resources and infrastructure. This crisis is not just a natural occurrence but is further exacerbated by individuals trying to shift demographic balances. It is time to address this growing problem with effective policy changes.
Our nation's government schemes are intended to provide much-needed assistance to families across the country. Programs that offer subsidies, scholarships, healthcare benefits, and ration supplies are funded by the nation's taxpayers. Anguish arises among taxpayers when they see these benefits stretched thin across families with more than two children, especially when these individuals might be intentionally taking advantage of the system.
The numbers tell a concerning story. According to the World Bank, India’s fertility rate, while declining, still averages at around 2.2 births per woman as of 2021. This rate contributes to an annual population growth rate of about 0.99%—suggesting that our population doubling time could be significantly troubling for our resources if not managed wisely.
Therefore, we propose that the central government implements a regulation restricting eligibility for government schemes. Specifically, families with more than two children would not qualify for government-provided subsidies, scholarships, free hospitalization, rations, or similar benefits. This measure would not only dissuade larger families that strain our resources, but ensure a more equitable distribution of our nation's wealth and services.
Our aim is not to penalize larger families, but to encourage responsible family planning and ensure that our nation's resources are efficiently utilized for sustainable development. Your vigilance and action will persuade the government to consider sustainable and equitable policies.
