Countless mornings have been marked by the struggle of wading through water to reach school. This isn't an adventure, but rather an unnecessary challenge faced by children and adults in our barangay on a near-daily basis. Floods have turned our roads into rivers hindering us from essential daily activities and risking our safety.

Research indicates that poor drainage systems are a primary cause of the problem. According to a study conducted by the Department of Public Works and Highways, substandard and insufficient drainage systems contribute significantly to urban flooding (DPWH, 2019). We inhabit such a locality where adequate resources for a standardized drainage system are missing.

Our barangay is our home. We can't stand by while our daily lives are impacted, our safety is at risk, and our children's education is disrupted. The plight is personal, tangible, and affects every aspect of our existence.
