Implement Effective and Humane Strategy to Manage Increased Coyote Presence in Magnolia, Seattle

The Issue

As a Magnolia resident, I have personally witnessed the chilling threat of coyote attacks on our community pets. The fear further extended when I, along with my two dogs, experienced being stalked by a coyote during our routine walks in the adjacent neighborhood of Magnolia-Discovery Park. With the intensified confrontations between humans, their pets, and these wild animals, it’s clear that the coyote presence has grown significantly in our area.

In order to address this issue effectively while also ensuring the ecological balance, as well as human and animal safety, this petition calls for the implementation of an integrated coexistence strategy. This innovative approach utilizes GPS tracking technology to monitor coyote behavior. Consequently, this would help predict coyote movements and curb human-animal clashes. Moreover, by enhancing public education and awareness about cohabitation with wildlife, we can increase safety and compassion towards these creatures in our community. Lastly, implementing humane deterrence measures, like coyote hazing, is vital to keep our pets and families safe while maintaining the ecological stability.

By investing in such a multi-faceted approach, we uphold both human safety and biodiversity. We petition the relevant authorities and all residents in and around Magnolia, Seattle, to support funding to implement this strategy responsibly and effectively. Sign this petition to give your commitment to safety, compassion, and coexistence.
