Implement Eco-Friendly Practices in Fast Food Operations

Implement Eco-Friendly Practices in Fast Food Operations
The Issue
The rapid growth of the fast food industry has had severe environmental consequences. These include deforestation to create pastureland for livestock and pollution from transportation and factory farming. These impacts are detrimental to our environment, and as responsible consumers residing in Regina, SK, Canada, we urge all fast food chains to adopt more eco-friendly practices.
In addition to environmental concerns, the fast food industry's demand for cheap, fast-rearing animals has compromised animal welfare and led to inferior nutritional quality. According to the Canadian Public Health Association, nearly half of all food dollars are spent outside the home, resulting in increased consumption of high fat, high sugar foods and contributing to rising obesity rates.
We are petitioning to request that fast food companies in Regina adopt eco-friendlier practices. This includes sourcing meat and other ingredients from local, sustainable farms, reducing wastage, and offering healthier menu items.
By making these commitments, companies can significantly contribute to the health and sustainability of our community. We urge all fast food chains in Regina to prioritize the environment, animal welfare, and public health in their operations.
Please sign our petition and let's make Regina a healthier, earth-friendlier city to live in.
