Implement Early Testing for Learning Disabilities in Our Educational System

Implement Early Testing for Learning Disabilities in Our Educational System
The Issue
My personal journey with my son's discovery of his learning disabilities has illuminated the crucial need for early detection and testing. Watching him struggle without understanding the root of his challenges has been devastating. Tests like those conducted by a Psychomotrist and gene sight testing could have provided enlightening information and crucial help at an earlier age.
It is a record that early intervention can dramatically improve the outcome of children with learning disabilities. An early diagnosis can open access to school services and allow children to make the most significant possible academic and social progress. Current policies, however, are not properly equipped to detect and address these issues at an early enough age.
The National Center for Education Statistics reported that as of 2019, 14% of all public school students received some form of special education under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Yet many of these students were only diagnosed after struggling and falling behind, often resulting in detrimental effects on their self-esteem and mental health.
It's time to prioritize our children's well-being, giving them the chance to flourish at their own pace, with the support they need. We, therefore, request that the Department of Education initiate early testing for learning disabilities in our educational system. Please join us in advocating for children like my son, who are waiting for their full potential to be recognized and nurtured. Sign this petition and demand change for a better future.
