I am a regular customer at our local grocery store, and like many others, I am forced to use self-service checkout.  

However, it feels as if I'm doing work - scanning items, bagging them up - all under the watchful eye of a supervisor. It's like undergoing a performance review without getting paid for it. Remember we don not work there.

Checking to the supermarkets recruitment website, they are hiring checkout people. Why these people are getting paid but we are not while we are doing the job too??

I dont think We are not asking for much; just a small discount or incentive that acknowledges our contribution in their profit since we do self service checkout for free (now) and they save a lot of money for not employing people. This could be in form of loyalty points or even direct discounts on our total bill.
