I am writing this petition with a heavy heart. My nephew, lost his life while going to his practice. The lack of speed bumps in our community in Colton, CA has resulted in tragic incidents like this one.

Our city's streets are bustling with children going to school, adults commuting to work and athletes heading for their practice sessions. However, the absence of sufficient speed bumps poses a significant risk to pedestrian safety. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 6,283 pedestrians were killed on U.S roads in 2018 alone due to traffic-related accidents.

We cannot afford any more losses due to something that can be prevented by implementing effective measures such as adding speed bumps. By doing so we can ensure safer commuting for everyone and prevent heartbreaking incidents like what happened with my nephew from recurring.

I urge you all - residents of Colton - let's come together and make our streets safer for everyone who walks them every day. Please sign this petition urging local authorities to add more speed bumps on our streets.
