As a concerned part of the Quail Run Elementary School community, I cannot ignore the potential dangers that our students and faculty face every day. Our school field has been accessed by unauthorized individuals in the past and it is evident that our current security measures are insufficient. It is a dire need that a fence is installed around the school field to fortify our security measures.

For context, over the past few years, there have been several incidents of unauthorized persons infiltrating school campuses, turning them into potential crime scenes (National School Safety Center, 2020). We cannot let our educational institutions become vulnerable to such threats.

Quail Run Elementary School deserves more. The students, faculty, and staff deserve to feel secure within their learning environment. Additional safety measures like fencing the school field will deter trespassers and provide a safer environment for our students.

Therefore, we are urging the School District and School Board to take immediate action and implement comprehensive security measures, starting with fencing our school field. Let us prioritize our children's safety; it can no longer be an afterthought. Please sign this petition and join our call for better security at Quail Run Elementary School.
