Implement Comprehensive Anti-Bullying Measures in Warrick County Schools

The Issue

As a concerned parent whose children have been victims of bullying in Warrick County Schools, I am compelled to act on behalf of not just my children, but every student who has suffered in silence. Bullying is a pervasive problem, and it's time that Warrick County takes a more serious approach to mitigate and eliminate it.

Bullying affects an alarming number of students. According to the National Center for Educational Statistics, 20% of students in the U.S. experience bullying, disrupting their education, mental health, and overall sense of safety. This issue is not just about the physical and emotional safety of our children, but their opportunity to learn in a safe, supportive environment.

We demand that Warrick County Schools take concrete steps to address this issue by implementing comprehensive anti-bullying measures. These should include mandatory programs in all schools to educate students about bullying and its serious consequences. We call for transparent policies that make punishments for bullies public knowledge to the victims' parents.

We also propose that all involved parties—the bully, the victim, and their families—be given proper support. The bully should be assigned a mentor and attend weekly meetings, receive therapy, and do community service. Once they have completed an anti-bullying program, they should be required to mentor another person, helping to foster empathy and personal growth.

Bullying is a community problem, and it requires a community solution. We appeal to the Warrick County Schools not only as concerned citizens but as parents, friends, and family members who care about the mental health and future of our children. Sign this petition to help create a safer, more inclusive environment for all students in Warrick County Schools.
