I am a regular commuter in London, and like many others, I have experienced numerous assaults and inappropriate verbal advances while simply trying to navigate the city. The recent attack on a woman on the tube has brought to light the urgent need for increased security measures. We demand that Transport for London (TFL) instate CCTV cameras on the underground system to ensure women's safety during their daily commute.

The British Transport Police reported 2,472 sexual offences on public transport in England, Scotland and Wales in 2019 alone - an alarming increase of 125% compared to five years prior (source: BBC News). This statistic underlines the urgency of our demand. It is not just about preventing crime; it is about making every woman feel safe and secure while going about her daily life.

We call upon TFL to take immediate action by installing CCTV cameras across all underground stations. This is not just a matter of personal safety but also essential for fostering an environment where everyone, including women, children and men alike, feels secure using public transportation services.
