This lack of regulation not only impacts our daily commutes but also adds unnecessary stress to our lives.

Auto rickshaws are a crucial mode of transport in our region, providing essential connectivity for residents and visitors alike. However, the absence of a standardized meter fare has resulted in chaos at both ends of our journeys. Commuters frequently find themselves negotiating fares, often with unfavorable results. This not only wastes precious time but can also lead to confrontations endangering personal safety.

According to a report by the Transport Department of Maharashtra, the implementation of fare meters in other areas has led to a significant decrease in commuter complaints related to overcharging and fare disputes. Public satisfaction levels have shown marked improvement. If this can happen elsewhere, why not in Vasai Virar?

A fair and transparent fare system, such as metered auto rickshaws, will provide transparency and fairness for both drivers and passengers. It will ensure that commuters are charged based on the actual distance traveled, eliminating arbitrary pricing and restoring trust in this essential service. With a metered fare system, we can alleviate much of the stress and unpredictability associated with our daily commutes.
