Implement Arizona's Universal Vouchers Bill HB 2853 in Oregon

Implement Arizona's Universal Vouchers Bill HB 2853 in Oregon
The Issue
My wife and I, like many other parents in Oregon, homeschool our five children. Despite this, we still pay taxes to public schools that teach subjects we don't believe are appropriate for our children at their current ages. We believe parents should have more flexibility to choose the type of schooling their children deserve.
This is why we are advocating for the implementation of Arizona's Universal Vouchers Bill HB 2853 here in Oregon. This bill provides an educational bank account of $7000 per child each year, funded by the government. It gives parents the freedom to send their kids to any private school or homeschool them without financial constraints.
The National Home Education Research Institute estimates that there are over 2 million homeschooled students in America (source: NHERI). Many families like ours struggle with the financial burden of providing quality education while also paying taxes for public education services they do not utilize.
Implementing a universal voucher system would provide much-needed relief and choice for families across Oregon. It would allow us as parents to decide what type of education best suits our children's needs without being limited by financial constraints.
We urge you to consider this change and give all parents in Oregon more control over their children's education. Please sign this petition if you support implementing Arizona's Universal Vouchers Bill HB 2853 in our state.
