Implement Anti-Bullying Measures and Improve Mental Health Support in Schools

Implement Anti-Bullying Measures and Improve Mental Health Support in Schools
The Issue
For me and my friends, walking through our school's doors each day has become a test of endurance. Periods of intense stress and fear have become commonplace, not due to academic pressures, but resulting from issues of bullying and harassment. The negative impact of such circumstances on the overall well-being and academic performance of students is undeniable. We demand that our school address these problems promptly and provide better mental health support services for all students. According to the National Bullying Prevention Center, one in every five students reports being bullied, una situation that prevents them from realizing their full academic potential (National Bullying Prevention Center, 2021). Additionally, the American Psychological Association highlights school bullying as a major factor contributing to students' mental health issues (APA, 2021). We request immediate measures to ensure that schools become a place for nurturing learning instead of brewing fear. A comprehensive, actionable strategy emphasizing zero tolerance for bullying along with expanded mental health support for students can make a significant difference. This isn't just about me, my friends, or even our school. It's about every student deserving respect, safety, and wholesome support for mental health.
