I am a resident of Kent, deeply concerned about the thousands of children out of school with no educational support. This is not just a statistic, but a reality that affects families and communities across our county. It's estimated that over 60,000 students nationwide are currently educated outside the school system (source: Department for Education). In Kent alone, this number is alarmingly high and continues to grow.

Education Other Than At School (EOTAS) provides an alternative for these children who cannot attend mainstream or specialist education due to various reasons such as health issues or special educational needs. However, it's disheartening to see that our own Kent County Council lacks such a policy.

Without an EOTAS policy in place, we risk leaving these children behind - their potential untapped and their futures uncertain. We need to ensure every child has access to quality education regardless of their circumstances.

We urge the Kent County Council to implement an EOTAS policy immediately. This will provide much-needed structure and support for those students who are unable to attend traditional schooling environments. Let us come together as a community and advocate for change – because every child deserves the right to education.
