In Ontario, children and youth with disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome, and other developmental disorders are at a higher risk of wandering off or becoming lost. Unlike traditional cases of abduction, these vulnerable individuals may unintentionally stray from safety, leading to potentially dangerous situations. Current alert systems do not adequately address these cases, leaving families and communities at a disadvantage when trying to locate and ensure the safety of their loved ones.

Implementing a specialized notification system, similar to the Amber Alert, would enable rapid dissemination of crucial information to local residents, increasing the chances of a swift and safe return. This proactive measure is essential to protect all children, regardless of their abilities, and to foster a more inclusive and responsive community. 

It is important to note that I have included ALL children and not just those with diagnosed disabilities. If a child isn't abducted then we need some sort of system to alert the public to get help!

We are calling on the Ontario Government and the Ontario Provincial Police to improve the alert system to save lives.
