This petition holds immense personal meaning to me, as well as to countless others who believe that the representation in Congress should be a true reflection of the citizenry. The current Congress is one of the oldest in history. According to data from the Congressional Research Service, the average age of Members of the 116th Congress was 57.6 years for Representatives and 62.9 years for Senators. While experience is certainly valuable, it is essential to have representation that accurately mirrors the age diversity of our nation.

Enforcing age limits in Congress will ensure the infusion of fresh ideas and perspectives, a critical element to the progress and development of our nation. It's time we brought in younger voices to tackle modern-day challenges such as tech regulation, climate change, and student debt, issues that impact younger constituents disproportionately.
