Implement Additional Pickleball Courts at Dawson Park, Glendora California

Dawson ParkGlendora, CA, United States
Created November 13, 2024

The Issue

Dawson Park has long been a cherished community location for residents of Glendora, California. Unfortunately, the current infrastructure does not adequately address the needs of all park-goers, particularly those with a passion for the increasingly popular sport of pickleball. Currently, there are only a 4 dedicated pickleball courts in the park, which leaves enthusiasts often waiting long periods of time for their chance to play.

The demand for pickleball has grown significantly across the country over the past decade. According to a 2019 Sports & Fitness Industry Association survey, 3.3 million people are playing this sport in America, a 9.7% increase over the previous year. This indicates a significant, growing interest in this fun, social and physical activity.

Glendora must continue to be a leader in offering accessible and diverse recreational opportunities for its residents. We urge our local government and the Parks and Recreation Department to allocate funds needed to construct an additional four pickleball courts in Dawson Park. This action will not only meet the present demand but will also cater to future growth in participation.

We, the pickleball players and supporters, request your immediate consideration on this matter. Add your voice to our call by signing this petition. Let's champion for more pickleball courts in Dawson Park for the welfare of our local residences, outdoor enthusiasts, and the great game of pickleball in Glendora. Please sign our petition today.
