Every day we, parents and children alike, walk to our local schools. This simple act, however, is marred by worry over the lack of a safe place to cross. We are calling for the immediate implementation of a zebra crossing near three of our local schools, along Gilpins Ride/Littlefields, Dereham. Preferably at the end of the little cut through between Moorgate & Gilpins Ride. According to WHO, pedestrian infrastructures like zebra crossings significantly reduce the risk of injury in areas with high foot traffic (source: World Health Organization). Let us not wait for an accident to take action. Let's ensure the safety of our children.
