Implement a Safe Crossing for Kingswood, Hull Residents and School Pupils

Implement a Safe Crossing for Kingswood, Hull Residents and School Pupils
The Issue
I am a resident of Kingswood, Hull, deeply concerned about the safety of our community members - particularly our school pupils. Every day at drop-off and pick-up times, we witness near misses as children navigate the busy roads without any safe crossing or lollipop person to guide them. We need a crossing put in place before someone gets seriously hurt.
According to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), pedestrian casualties peak at "school run" times with 20% occurring between 3-5pm (RoSPA, 2017). This statistic is alarming and highlights the urgent need for action in our community.
We are not asking for much - just basic safety measures that will protect our children and residents from potential harm. A designated crossing area or a lollipop person during peak hours could significantly reduce risks associated with road traffic accidents.
It's time we prioritise safety over convenience. Let's ensure that all residents and school pupils in Kingswood can safely cross roads during busy hours. Please sign this petition to urge local authorities to implement these necessary measures immediately.
