In the Philippines, despite the existence of Republic Act No. 9710 or the Magna Carta for Women, many women are still unaware of their rights and protections under this law. This act aims to eliminate discrimination against women by recognizing, protecting, fulfilling and promoting their rights in all spheres. However, due to lack of awareness and education on these matters, many women continue to suffer from various forms of discrimination and violence.

We call upon the Philippine government to implement a comprehensive program that will educate all Filipino women about their rights under this act. This initiative should include widespread information dissemination through various channels such as schools, community centers, local government units and media platforms.

By doing so we can empower our women with knowledge about their legal rights which will help them protect themselves from any form of abuse or discrimination. It is high time we take concrete steps towards ensuring that every woman in our country knows her worth and her rights.
