A family member of mine recently had a close call with a vehicle while crossing near Holywell Road in Ewloe. This incident has highlighted the urgent need for safety measures to be put in place on this busy road. The absence of a pedestrian crossing is putting lives at risk daily.

Holywell Road is an active thoroughfare used by many residents and visitors alike. The lack of proper pedestrian infrastructure not only endangers pedestrians but also creates stress for drivers who must remain vigilant for individuals attempting to cross the road.

According to data from the Department for Transport, in 2019 there were 25,975 accidents involving pedestrians across the UK (source: Department for Transport). While we don't have specific statistics about Holywell Road, we believe that implementing a pedestrian crossing could significantly reduce potential accidents and improve overall safety.

We are calling upon Flintshire County Council to take immediate action. We urge them to conduct an assessment of Holywell Road's current conditions and implement necessary changes - starting with installing a safe and visible pedestrian crossing.
