I am writing this petition out of a deep personal desire to honor the memory of our loved ones. We wish to host a memorial event that aligns with our faith and traditions, hence the call for a Muslim-friendly prom in Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

Prom is an event that marks an important milestone in young people's lives. However, traditional proms often do not cater to the needs and beliefs of Muslim students. This lack of cultural sensitivity can lead to exclusion and discomfort among these students.

In Saudi Arabia, 97% of the population practices Islam (source: The World Bank). It is therefore crucial that events such as proms reflect this demographic reality and respect Islamic values. A Muslim-friendly prom would include modest dress codes, gender-segregated spaces if needed, halal food options and culturally appropriate music.

By implementing such changes we can create an inclusive environment where all students feel comfortable celebrating their achievements. This will not only promote diversity but also foster mutual respect among different cultures within our community.
