Implement a Municipal Advisory Council for the Reche Canyon Area

Implement a Municipal Advisory Council for the Reche Canyon Area

The Issue

As a resident living within the unique and complex community of Reche Canyon, I experience first-hand the multitude of issues facing our area. Our small rural community, extending just 6 miles along Reche Canyon Road, encompasses two counties and five cities, each with their own challenges and needs. We are distinctly different from our neighboring city to the south, Moreno Valley, yet our concerns often get overlooked due to our size and complexity. Increasing traffic, encroachment, crime, and neighborhood unrest are just a few of the issues we grapple with daily. It is imperative that we pull together to address these problems effectively and efficiently.

I am therefore calling on the Riverside County Board of Supervisors to create a Municipal Advisory Council composed of local residents. This Council will ensure our voices are heard, provide invaluable input, and make precious recommendations on current issues and future concerns specific to our unincorporated area. For far too long, Reche Canyon has been without a forum for community participation and efficient communication. Establishing this Council signifies that the needs of our community are finally recognized and addressed directly. There is no better time than now to bridge the gap between our representation and the reality we face daily. We need local representation that views the world from our perspective.

I urge residents of Reche Canyon and allies of rural communities to sign this petition. Let us demand a Municipal Advisory Council that will consolidate our diverse voices and guide our leaders to make decisions that truly serve our community's needs. Sign the petition, become the change we need.
