Over the last several years since moving to Atkinson, NH, we've witnessed continued distress caused by traffic accidents at the intersection of Rt.111 and Waters Edge, and countless more in previous years as shared by neighbors.  Living near this intersection, witnessing these occurrences, listening to the concerns of neighbors and other residents, as well as knowing firsthand the feeling of sitting on Rt. 111 with your blinker on waiting for the right opportunity to turn, all of this and the hope for a safer roadway have prompted this plea.  We respectfully and urgently request the NHDOT install a Left Lane Turn and signaling system at this dangerous intersection. 

The increased volume of recreational, residential, and through traffic, combined with an absence of appropriate safety measures, makes this intersection significantly hazardous.  We believe these factors play a substantial role in the ongoing accumulation of accidents.

This petition is for consideration of an immediate installation of the requested traffic safety measures - they are vital in helping to prevent further accidents at this intersection. The incorporation of such roadway safety measures at this intersection would not only reduce the risk of future accidents but would also pave the way for a safer community space.
