As a student in WA I am personally experiencing the stress and exhaustion that comes with our current five-day school week. The pressure to complete homework assignments, study for tests, and participate in extracurricular activities is overwhelming. It's not just about academics - it's about our mental health and family time too.

Our current system has us attending school 5 out of 7 days a week. This leaves little room for rest, relaxation or quality time with loved ones. We are more than just students; we are children who need nurturing environments to grow and thrive.

Research supports the idea of a four-day school week as well. Studies have shown that shorter weeks can lead to happier, less stressed students without negatively impacting academic performance (National Education Association). Furthermore, states like Colorado and Oregon have already implemented this change successfully.

By adopting a Monday-Thursday schedule in Western Australia  schools, we would be prioritizing the wellbeing of students over outdated educational norms. This is not just about reducing stress - it's about creating an education system that respects the needs of its students.
