Strictly for CBIT Hyderabad students only. Please sign only if you are from CBIT.

As students of Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), we respectfully request the administration to implement a five-day academic week by declaring all Saturdays as holidays. In today's highly competitive environment, students are expected to balance academics with placement preparation, internships, certifications, research, project work, hackathons, and extracurricular activities. The current six-day academic schedule leaves very little time for these essential aspects of student development.

A five-day academic week would enable students to utilize weekends productively for skill development, career preparation, self-learning, and personal growth. Many students spend considerable time preparing for placements, competitive examinations, industry certifications, and technical projects that enhance both their employability and the reputation of the institution. However, the existing schedule often limits our ability to dedicate sufficient time to these pursuits.

In addition to academic and professional growth, student well-being is equally important. Continuous academic commitments can lead to stress, burnout, and reduced productivity. An additional day of rest would allow students to recharge, improve their mental health, and return to classes with greater focus and motivation. Research consistently shows that students who maintain a healthy balance between academics and personal life perform better both inside and outside the classroom.

Furthermore, a five-day academic week would encourage greater participation in student clubs, sports, cultural activities, community service, and innovation-driven initiatives. These experiences play a crucial role in developing leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills—qualities that are highly valued by employers and essential for holistic development.

Many reputed institutions across India and around the world have successfully adopted a five-day academic schedule while maintaining high academic standards. We believe that CBIT can similarly enhance the overall student experience without compromising educational excellence.

We therefore urge the CBIT administration to consider the long-term academic, professional, and personal benefits of implementing a five-day academic week. This change would empower students to achieve greater success, improve their well-being, and contribute more effectively to the growth and reputation of our institution.

Please sign this petition to support a five-day academic week and make every Saturday a holiday for students at CBIT.
