Dear: Sumas Park community, 

My name is Finn, and I am a 10-year-old boy in the Sumas neighborhood. I am hoping to get your support to help us convince the city of Burnaby to put a crosswalk between Sumas park and Kensington. 

The cars on Kensington Street often don’t realize that there is a park right here and speed on by. When I try to cross the road, I often have to wait a very long time before someone either stops for me or there are no cars. I don’t feel safe crossing the road right now. I know many other people cross the road to use our beautiful new Sumas playground and probably feel the same way I do.  

Soon I will be going to high school and will also need to cross the road to get to the sidewalk on Kensington Street. This crosswalk will help all those students needing to walk to school.
