I am writing this petition as a concerned sibling living in West Jordan, UT. My younger siblings cross the intersection at 7000S and 2700W daily to get to school. The lack of a crossing guard at this busy intersection puts them, along with many other children in our community, at risk every day.

According to the National Center for Safe Routes to School, nearly one-third of child pedestrian fatalities occur between 3-7 p.m., when children are often making their way home from school. This statistic is alarming and highlights the urgent need for safety measures such as crossing guards.

Crossing guards play an essential role in ensuring child pedestrian safety. They not only help children cross roads safely but also educate them about traffic rules and regulations. By implementing a crossing guard at this intersection, we can significantly reduce the risk that our children face while commuting to and from school.

For my siblings' safety, for all our children's security in West Jordan - let us come together as a community and demand that local authorities implement a crossing guard at the intersection of 7000S and 2700W.
