We, the undersigned are staff and students working and studying at Imperial College London. As one of the world’s foremost centres of scientific learning and research, our institution has a vital role to play in identifying and implementing solutions to effectively address the climate crisis, and in demonstrating the seriousness of the situation to the public. 

We therefore demand that Imperial declares a climate emergency. This should entail urgent and transparent consultation with student and staff bodies on actions to use Imperial's resources to combat climate change.
