It's time for Ryan Walters to be held accountable.

Walters has put a stain on public school education in Oklahoma, due to his incompetence, willful neglect of duty, and violations of federal and state law.

Walter's decision to forgo federal grants that provide funding for public school services, potentially leading to a loss of up to $272 million for Oklahoma's children is a failure to uphold educational standards. He has neglected his responsibility to uphold and improve educational standards in Oklahoma. Forgoing these federal grants will lead to inadequate funding, lack of support for teachers, and a failure to address systemic problems within the education system.

Walter's threat to take away Tulsa Public School's accreditation, the state's largest public school system of more than 33,000 students is considered unethical behavior. A school district that loses its accreditation, would be closed and dissolved, having lost all recognition and funding from the state. This is a blatant abuse of power under the guise of creating a culture war in a state that is already predominantly republican.

Walter's failure to hold teachers and coaches accountable for allegations of sexual misconduct with children illustrates his incompetence and failure to fulfill duties. Not to mention Walters has also sent unsolicited pornographic images to several Oklahoma lawmakers, which can be viewed as a violation of public trust.

The impeachment is necessary to protect the health and wealth of Oklahoma's public schools.
