This includes derogatory remarks about countries predominantly inhabited by people of color and the promotion of a "build the wall" agenda that targets Latinx communities. The Trump administration implemented a "zero tolerance" immigration policy that resulted in the systematic separation of thousands of children from their families at the U.S.-Mexico border. This inhumane practice caused immense psychological trauma to children and parents alike, and many families remain separated to this day. Such actions are a violation of human rights and have drawn widespread condemnation from human rights organizations and the global community. President Trump has enacted policies that disproportionately affect minority communities, including attempts to ban travel from predominantly Muslim countries and the rollback of protections for LGBTQ+ individuals. These actions demonstrate a clear pattern of discrimination that undermines the principles of equality and justice. The President has consistently attacked diversity initiatives and programs aimed at promoting inclusion in education and the workplace. His administration has sought to dismantle affirmative action policies and has promoted a narrow definition of American identity that excludes many communities. It is the duty of Congress to hold the President accountable for these actions and to uphold the values of equality, justice, and human dignity.
