It has been quite some time since we have provided an update in Javier's case. Back in November, he was granted another one (1) year stay of deportation/removal by DHS/ICE. We are now 1/2 way into this 1 year period of time. And, we are once again back at the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, litigating the reinstatement of the old order of deportation/removal issued against Javier at the Houston airport, just after the terrorist attack of 9/11 - 18 1/2 years ago. We have discovered several violations of procedure at the Houston airport during that time frame. At that time (before the creation of DHS), INS wasn’t following protocols, and it is clear that there are serious problems with the validity of certain documents in Javier's case. We will continue to keep you posted on the developments with his important litigation case.
On behalf of Javier and his family, we want to thank everyone again for all the support he has received, and more importantly, we hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this difficult time. Javier has been able to return to work at Pizza Al Fresco in Palm Beach, and looks forward to seeing many friendly faces as we slowly are able to return from the horrific pandemic, which has affected so many people's lives.
Thank you to Rebeca Sanchez-Roig, Esq., who has worked diligently on Javier's case, as we continue to fight in this compelling case for this deserving client to be able to remain in the United States with his family. We have received support from a diverse array of people from all walks of life and from all along the political spectrum. Thank you again and for those interested, I may be reached at rhujber@hujberlaw.com.
