Subject: Request for immediate disbursement of ST (Scheduled Tribe) Scholarship*

Respected Sir/Madam,

We, the students belonging to Scheduled Tribe (ST) category of Assam, are submitting this petition regarding the non-disbursement of our Post-Matric / Pre-Matric ST Scholarship for the Academic Year 2024-25.

Thousands of ST students had applied on time on the NSP portal with all valid documents, including ST Certificate, Income Certificate, and Institution Verification. Despite successful verification by our institutions, the scholarship amount has not been credited to our accounts till 28th August 2026.

Due to this delay, we are facing severe problems:

1. Unable to pay college/semester fees
2. Unable to purchase books and study materials
3. Many ST students from remote and economically weak families are on the verge of dropping out
4. Mental stress and financial burden on our families

The ST Scholarship is crucial for our education. It is our right and a constitutional support to ensure higher education for tribal students.

Our Humble Demands:

1. Release the pending ST Scholarship amount for 2024-25 immediately.
2. Update the scholarship status transparently on the NSP portal.
3. Provide a fixed timeline for disbursement to avoid such delays in the future.

We trust the Government of Assam and the Tribal Affairs Department will take prompt and necessary action for the welfare of ST students.

We request all fellow students, parents, and citizens to sign this petition in support of tribal students' education.
