Horse racing is cruel and it's time to put an end to it in Illinois. The racing exposes the horses to risk of injury and even death. In 2018, 31 horses died while on racetracks. Racing involves striking the horse with a whip, which can cause injury while trying to enhance the horse's performance. When a horse does become injured, it's not uncommon for the owner to euthanize it. If greyhound racing was banned in 40+ states, it's time we end the immoral practice of horse racing as well. Place your bets on football or soccer, not the life of an animal.
