No Front License Plates In Illinois

The Issue

There are currently 19 states that no longer require a vehicle to be fitted with a front license plate.  Two of which share a border with Illinois.  Why should residents of Illinois be required to have a front plate?  Aside from the obvious fact that they're unsightly, there are increased costs associated to the additional plate.  In 2011, it was released that it costs the state of Illinois $2.75 to manufacture two license plates, and $2.15 to make one. A reduction $.60 may seem negligible, but these savings translate to an estimated cost savings of $800,000-$1,000,000 annually.   The front license plate is so redundant, that only a single registration sticker is sent out to validate the vehicle's licensing.  Lets make Illinois the 20th state to not require a front plate.
