Students and school faculty in Indian Prarie School District 204 would all benefit greatly from moving to a 4-day school week. Firstly, chronic stress caused by overworking can lead to lots of health problems such as anxiety, depression, sleep deprivation, heart disease, etc., and implementing a 4-day school week would lessen stress and, in turn, decrease the risk of developing these health issues. Several states and countries have implemented 4-day school weeks, and there have been lot of positive results. In fact, in Iceland, there was a trial done that found that moving to a 4-day school week decreases stress & risk of burnout and encouraged better work-life balance. Furthermore, 25 states in the U.S. have at least one district with a 4-day school week, and studies have shown that they save districts money and increase test scores. Overall, district 204 should implement a 4-day school district because it is extremely beneficial for the health and well-being of students and staff.
