Everyone is suffering due to this pandemic today. Students who are in the final year of their BE/BTech degree have their full semester postponed. Passed out students who planned to prepare for GATE 2021 after their final examination (maybe in June 2020), still have their final exams pending. Those who have already appeared for GATE 2020 and scored good or average are yet waiting for the calls from PSUs and IITs(for winter admission). Also those who will not get admitted for Winter Admissions in IITs (as they are also delayed, probably they’ll be over in the month of January this year), they have to re-appear for GATE in 2021 with very less amount of time remaining for preparation. Also, there are changes made for GATE 2021 (pattern changes and syllabus changes) which is making the situation of students even more worse than what it was. Even the toppers of GATE 2020 had to settle for less than what they deserved to get. Almost all the exams have been postponed which hampered all the planning and schedule of the aspirants. Also, many of us suffered from COVID-19 and have also lost their loving ones. As we all have suffered from these conditions, many days of preparation got deducted from our preparation time. So, there is a need to give all of us some more time to prepare and save our 1 year from being lost again. We, as a unit, request you (The GATE 2021 Authorities, IIT Bombay) to postpone the exam for at least 25-30 days and save our year.
