As the current curriculum of IIEST Shibpur is purely online it is causing students to loose the large amount of experience and learning that they can get while being in college. Now as almost all the public amenities are open and all the works are being carried out just like before, certainly there is no problem to open college. In online curriculum, students of non-technical branches are not able to perform their labs and practicals which will result in making them just dummy engineers with no hand on experience. Even the cinema halls and supermarkets are now being opened in Kolkata, So why not college as it will only do the good. Moreover the students are at home for almost 9 months and it is quite affecting their mental health as the age in which they are, they need to be in a collective constructive atmosphere. Doing stuffs while just sitting at home just brings negativity. And we think it's a high time to open the institute. It's a petition from students of IIEST Shibpur to the administration of the same to open the college and carry out offline semesters.
