ICC, ICJ and UN to Investigate Donald Trump for War Crimes and Global Warmongering
The Issue
ICC, ICJ and UN to Investigate Donald Trump for War Crimes and Global Warmongering
We, the undersigned, call on the International Criminal Court (ICC), the International Court of Justice (ICJ), and the United Nations to investigate Donald Trump for his role in fueling wars, supporting war crimes, and destabilizing global peace.
During his first term as president and his current administration, Trump has played a direct role in aiding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s war crimes in Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, and the region, providing military, financial, and political support for Israel’s aggressive actions. His administration approved billions in military aid, emboldened illegal settlements, and shielded Israel from international accountability.
Additionally, Trump’s warmongering extends beyond the Middle East, with direct involvement in military aggression worldwide. His administration intensified U.S. bombing campaigns in Yemen, backing Saudi-led airstrikes that have devastated civilian areas. Trump also escalated airstrikes in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Somalia, resulting in mass casualties and worsening humanitarian crises. His use of drone warfare expanded unchecked, leading to an increase in civilian deaths.
Furthermore, Trump abandoned the Kurdish forces who fought alongside the U.S. against ISIS, while aiding Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s regime—allowing Turkey to launch deadly attacks on Kurdish regions. This betrayal led to massacres, displacement, and strengthened extremist groups in Syria.
Trump’s rhetoric and policies have further escalated global tensions, worsening U.S. relations with multiple countries, stoking division, and amplifying instability worldwide. His past and current actions also raise questions about his stance on Russia’s war in Ukraine, including his decision to halt military aid while demanding access to Ukraine's minerals without providing security guarantees—effectively abandoning Ukraine to Russian aggression.
Recent reporting describes a U.S. operation in Venezuela involving the reported capture/abduction of President Nicolás Maduro, raising serious questions under international law (use of force, sovereignty, and unlawful abduction).
International reactions describe the 2026 U.S. military intervention in Venezuela, including airstrikes on Caracas and the reported capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, as a serious breach of international law and possible crime of aggression under the UN Charter. Experts and UN legal commentators have called for independent review of this action and its implications for sovereignty and regional stability.
Critics have described certain U.S. strikes and operations during this period — including in Venezuela, the Caribbean Sea, and other regions — as lacking transparent legal basis under the UN Charter, raising concerns about unilateral use of force without Security Council authorization.
U.S. engagement with Syria’s interim leadership (including high-level meetings and sanctions relief steps) has drawn criticism and concern as fighting intensified around Kurdish-led SDF areas.
Recent clashes have reportedly increased the risk to detention sites holding ISIS-linked prisoners; reports describe jailbreaks/escapes during fighting, raising global security concerns.
Reports document major expansion of immigration detention and reduced transparency, raising serious human-rights concerns
Investigative reporting has raised concerns about policies that shield ICE agents from accountability for alleged abuses
The Trump administration has also taken steps to shield itself and allies from ICC scrutiny, including sanctions against court officials and political pressure to change the ICC’s founding framework, actions which human rights organisations warn could undermine global accountability mechanisms.
As Trump remains in power and continues his dangerous policies, his track record of enabling wars, bombing sovereign nations, and shielding war criminals poses an urgent threat to global stability. We call on the ICC, ICJ, and the UN to hold him accountable for his role in war crimes, human rights violations, and crimes against peace.
We emphasise that the United Nations can conduct independent fact-finding and evidence-gathering investigations, the ICC can examine individual criminal responsibility, and the ICJ can address state responsibility under international law. Together, these mechanisms are essential to ensure accountability for actions that may amount to war crimes, crimes against humanity, or crimes of aggression.
Sign this petition to demand an immediate international investigation into Trump’s war crimes and global warmongering. The world cannot afford to let history repeat itself.
