Implement safer regulation for lithium batteries in commercial flights.

The Issue

Will it take 300 lives for the civil aviation authorities to react? Will a plane crash be the only way for this issue to be recognized?

Lithium batteries carried in checked-in luggage, or as cargo, present a risk of explosion and fire. Such a fire, if in-flight, will result in an inevitable loss of life.

The current security screening requirements are outdated and for example do not impose screening for lithium batteries. Cargo misdeclaration on shipments of lithium batteries is a real risk and a lethal threat.

We must impose all security and safety precautions necessary to protect people.

Enhancing flight safety is paramount to all operators but can only be made compulsory by the governing bodies of the aviation industry across the world.

We need a stronger regulation to detect lithium before catastrophe happens. Please sign to remove the risk lithium batteries pose to the airline industry.
