Donald J. Trump has demonstrated conduct inconsistent with the responsibilities of the presidency. Through his words and actions, he has repeatedly shown disregard for constitutional principles, democratic norms and the rule of law. No person, including a president, is above the law.

By signing this petition, I commit to doing what I can, peacefully and lawfully, to oppose abuses of power and to support accountability through democratic institutions, civic engagement and free elections. I understand that speaking out may invite criticism, harassment or retaliation. Even so, I will act with courage and conviction, knowing that millions of people in the United States and around the world remain committed to democracy, constitutional government and equal justice under the law.

On this, the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, we must demonstrate again that we have no kings.
