In the United Kingdom, 16-year-olds are allowed to get married, join the army and pay taxes. However, they are not allowed to get a tattoo without parental consent. This is an outdated law that needs to be changed.

Tattoos have become increasingly popular in recent years. According to a survey conducted by YouGov in 2018, one in five adults in the UK has at least one tattoo. It is a form of self-expression and art that should not be limited by age.

Many young people want tattoos as a way of expressing themselves and their individuality. By allowing 16-year-olds to get tattoos with parental consent, we are giving them the freedom to make their own decisions about their bodies.

Furthermore, there is no evidence that getting a tattoo at 16 is any more dangerous than getting one at 18 or older. The risks associated with tattoos such as infection or allergic reactions can happen at any age if proper precautions are not taken.

It's time for the UK government to update this law and allow 16-year-olds with parental consent to get tattoos legally. Let's give young people the freedom they deserve!
