I am a victim of sexual abuse from my father of over a 30 year period, amongst others! He was finally sentenced in 2017 for 21 years concurrently but  he has been granted parole after 3.5 years! His witness was my mother saying he has a stable home environment to go back to! This is not true, this women has allowed his behaviour over the past 30 years plus.

my first experience of telling my mother about the abuse was quite unsettling and hard to comprehend as she said “you shouldn’t have been a daddy’s girl sitting on his knee.

the comments were endless, I had to witness him doing it to others, as to which I am massively scarred for life.

my mother has always stood by this person and given up her children as well as grand children, it amazes me the fact that if a group of boys are together and one stab someone, they all get a sentence of murder!

My dad not only took my life, dignity, emotional well-being and trust in society as well as my mum and every other family member, I think it’s fair to say I have been destroyed beyond reasonable doubt.

my so called mum has visited this person in prison and is quite welcoming of him.

i ask for the law to be changed as I would have actually preferred to be murdered than deal with the loss off my mum and all my family making the choice she has to support such a sexual predator.

i felt like I was doing the right thing to protect others but it’s sad to the justice system doesn’t have the same view.

i hope and pray that this will be taken on board as there is something that needs to be changed with how the law works for sexual abuse victims.
