Carl Prean from Ryde , Isle of Wight , Nicknamed " Preano " is a living legend and one of the best Table Tennis Players that England has ever produced ! At 14 years old he was England no. 1 whilst studying and attending Ryde School !

His highest World ranking was 18 in the world which is a truly incredible achievement !

3 times National Champion 

5 Medals at the Worlds and Euros!

I was absolutely appalled to learn that his name has been removed from the Isle of Wight Table Tennis Centre at Smallbrook , formerly the Carl Prean Table Tennis Centre! I find that absolutely disgusting , when I left the Isle of Wight in 1999 the centre proudly carried his name.

I would like this to be changed immediately and a humble and sincere apology sent to Carl and his family ! What Carl has achieved is tremendous and the Isle of Wight should be incredibly proud of him . Carl still teaches and tutors players of all ages and his advice and training is second to none. He is an absolute asset to the island and is greatly overlooked. He's a super coach and mentor and new rising talent from the Isle of Wight would greatly benefit from his tutelage -  there would be few greater in England to do so!

Ryde and the Isle of Wight should treasure this former champion and a Rocky like Statue could be built to commemorate his achievements !!
