TL;DR - The recent changes in blacklisted modifications are not only unnecessary, but also only causes inconvenience for the majority of the players while not bringing significant benefits to justify the changes.

Hypixel has recently made changes to their blacklisted modifications rule, specifically:

- Mods that display invisible entities are disallowed
- Mods that change player movements are disallowed
- Mods that cancel vanilla actions are disallowed
- Mods that automatically interact with interfaces are disallowed

2/4 of these are problematic, as their ban means that features that a significant majority of the playerbase relies on are no longer allowed on the server.

Hypixel's reasoning is that they create an unfair advantage, but there's several issues with this reasoning:

- Mods are openly available for everyone to install, their performance impact is negligible and installation of Forge is one-click. Forge also practically supports all setups unless your setup is already on it's last legs.

- The majority of players are already using these modifications, meaning they've become a critical part of the game. A ban on them only serves to disrupt the community.

- Skyblock isn't a competitive game, an unfair advantage does not matter when it doesn't affect other players' experience. The QoL changes Hypixel is banning are only even for convenience, not to be a shortcut.

- Hypixel claims packet manipulation to be the main cause for the blacklisting. This may only possibly be true for mods that display invisible entities, but it is not a valid reason for a blanket ban on most of the features Hypixel has mentioned, especially when they do not require packet manipulation.The new changes do not only target actual unfair modifications.

- Hypixel also claims that some mods were leaning towards hacked client territory. Had Hypixel communicated this to mod creators? Did Hypixel help guide mod creators to make safe and fair mods instead of pulling out a flamethrower and burning everything in sight?

The new changes show how disconnected Hypixel has become from the community, a roll-back of the new changes is absolutely needed. The new changes lack communication with the community, destroy Hypixel's modding culture and is in general a severely misguided move.

Sign this petition, and tell Hypixel that this is not what the community wants.
