Hunger Strike to Protest Civil Rights Violations at Verisign

The Issue

A coworker at Verisign reported me to Human Resources (“HR”) for asking about another coworker. During the meeting, the rep repeatedly told me to only talk about work and wouldn’t let me leave until I agreed to that and admitted that what I did was inappropriate.

Tom Indelicarto, Verisign’s General Counsel (Chief Legal Officer), believes that what HR did was its prerogative and perfectly tolerable. If you agree and think that the company’s conduct was reasonable or acceptable, stop talking to coworkers about yourself, themselves, other coworkers, family, friends, lunch, weekends, hobbies, movies, shows, sports, news, weather, etc. If you think that Verisign’s conduct was extreme or outrageous, please sign my petition and share it. Hopefully, the company will resolve the issue and this will never happen to you.

For anyone who doesn’t care about their freedom of speech, Verisign also effectively took away my freedom of religion. The person who reported me to HR would discuss Jew stuff and another coworker would even pray next to me. Imagine that the company prohibits them from exercising their religion and makes them state that doing so is wrong. Reasonable/acceptable or extreme/outrageous?
