This petition is to limit the amount of water that AI data centers use. Currently, this petition is only to limit the amount of water that AI data centers can use in New Jersey, but after this law is passed we will expand to more states. Here are some quick facts about AI water usage:

AI making just one image can take 2 to 5 liters of fresh water
 Two-thirds of new data centers are in drought prone areas 
 Many corporations try to hide the amount of water they use to cool their machines
 Large data centers use 5 million gallons of water dialog, the same amount as a city of 50,000 people
All while people are being killed by thirst on the daily. We need to stop this while it’s still controllable, and that window is slowly closing. We need to act now. The first step is signing this petition to catch lawmakers attention
