Find Out What Really Happened to The Phillipi Family Dog
The Issue
My first reaction was utter disgust, then confusion when I heard how an arrogant YouTube couple euthanized their dog, Bowser. Bowser had apparently nipped their son Logan’s cheek. While Logan was a toddler, the dog barely left a mark on his cheek. Also how did it occur to them that it wasn't needed to teach their kid some boundaries around animals?
They also stated that Bowser had some unresolved trauma from when he got bitten by an older dog when he was younger. The fact that firstly they didn't teach their kid some boundaries, or tried to help their dog after his incident. Logan was harassing Bowser and the dog was showing signs of uncomfort. Did Logan back away? NO. He kept on messing with the dog because his parents taught him it's fine to mess with dogs even after they dont like the situation.
The most unnerving thing was probably the line where Dan, the husband, said he wanted to “pick him [Bowser] up by the neck and put him down right there in the backyard”. And one question that has been sitting with me is that they could have actually killed him right then and there. A licensed vet would not have put a dog down after nipping someone. A dog needs three strikes of actual bite bites to be put down. So it is entirely possible that Dan did kill Bowser in the backyard which is disgusting.
My 110 lbs. dog, Lando, who is a pitbull mix with trauma, does get mad at me when I mess with him too much. My parents taught me that if a dog is uncomfortable, back off. My small chihuahua with terrible trauma (she was thrown into a river and beaten when she was 3 months old.) is full of anxiety and is terrified of a lot of things. She has nipped even at me, the person she loves the most and protects with her whole heart. My family has all rescue animals and know how to act around them. Do better.
